SAN DIEGO, CA, April 10, 2008 -- IntelliDOT Corporation, a leading provider of handheld, bedside point-of-care (BPOC) solutions for hospitals, today announced that it has been awarded a three-year contract with Premier Purchasing Partners LP for its CAREt® System. Under the terms of the agreement, IntelliDOT will provide optimized pricing and professional services for its handheld BPOC technology, the CAREt System, to Premier’s nearly 1,600 member hospitals and more than 49,000 other healthcare sites.
The CAREt System is the first wireless, nurse-centric workflow manager to connect caregivers with the information systems they need at the point-of-care. Built on a design that complements the way nurses work, the CAREt System provides a straightforward user interface that supports a comprehensive approach to medication safety and documentation at the bedside, in a variety of healthcare settings. The lightweight, wireless CAREt Handheld enables nurses to perform safety checks and safely administer medications at the bedside with just one hand.
“This exclusive contract with Premier is another significant validation of our continued market and technology leadership for BPOC solutions,” said Thomas Klopack, president and CEO of IntelliDOT. “Premier conducted an intensive evaluation of BPOC products in the marketplace and through its clinician review boards chose to exclusively partner with IntelliDOT.”
“Premier is committed to providing our members with systems and solutions that improve quality, safety, manage risk and reduce costs,” said Mike Alkire, president of Premier Purchasing Partners.
With the CAREt System nurses can easily manage all tasks associated with medication administration, five-rights checking and related documentation including checking medication accuracy and entering patient data, checking for allergy and drug interactions and documenting follow-up pain scales and vital signs at the bedside. In addition to bedside medication administration the CAREt offers a laboratory module for safe and accurate specimen collection, breast milk administration and collection and vital sign collection.
