-IntelliDOT to Install Bedside Medication Administration System at Fremont-Rideout Healthcare Group Facilities-
SAN DIEGO, YUBA CITY, MARYSVILLE, CA, January 28, 2008 – IntelliDOT Corporation, an industry expert in patient safety systems specializing in wireless barcode point-of-care (BPOC) technology for hospitals, announced today an agreement to deploy its innovative bedside medication administration system, the IntelliDOT CAREt® System, at Fremont-Rideout Healthcare Group (FRHG) facilities: Rideout Memorial Hospital, Marysville, CA; Fremont Medical Center, Yuba City, CA.
“IntelliDOT provides a technology that will help us meet the patient safety goals that are a part of our overall Strategic Plan,” said Steve Frost, CNO. “Their solution protects the patient’s five rights during the medication administration process: right patient, right medication, right dose, right route, and right time.”
The CAREt System is a comprehensive patient safety solution that leverages a clinician-designed wireless handheld device and integrated software applications onto a universal platform for bedside medication administration, blood transfusion, specimen collection, infant breast milk tracking, vital signs and assessment documentation. This easy-to-learn and easy-to-use system allows caregivers to perform these tasks at the patient’s bedside with confidence that their care is as safe as possible. Connected real-time to the hospital’s information systems, The CAREt System helps healthcare providers optimize documentation, communication and information access across any size facility.
“We take patient safety very seriously and look forward to managing the process through the marriage of our IntelliDOT BPOC technology and McKesson’s Clinicals,” said Allen Briard, Chief Information Officer for FRHG. “I was convinced when I saw a new nurse administer 30 meds in less than five minutes during a recent site visit. Healthcare solutions must fit within clinical workflows in order to be used efficiently and effectively – IntelliDOT’s solution does just that.”
“The executives and clinical staff at Fremont-Rideout truly understand the importance of patient safety and speed-to-value with regard to solution implementation,” said John Adams, Area Sales Director for IntelliDOT Corporation. “They will be our first California site and we look forward to helping them realize their patient safety goals.”
