American River Ventures (ARV) is an early-stage investment firm focused on bringing value and experience to high-growth information technology companies. Harry Laswell, Corley Phillips and John Kunhart founded the firm in May 2001, and are currently building a $75 million fund. The direct experience of the general partners as angel investors and corporate equity investors enables ARV to understand the process, pitfalls and day-to-day realities of preparing a company for rapid growth. Shoreline Venture Management, LLC is a venture capital firm based in the San Francisco Bay area. DIMA Ventures is a private investment firm providing seed capital and board-level support for startup companies in the medical device and health care service markets. Dick Allen, DIMA's President, has over 35 years of experience in the healthcare field, including a ten-year stint at Baxter Healthcare to start his career. He is currently a member of the Stanford University faculty, teaching in the graduate business program. He was a co-founder and senior vice president of Caremark, and, for the past 20 years, has been an investor/board member for a number of healthcare companies. He is currently a board member of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian and served for six years as its chairman.
