Product Manager

Description

The IntelliDOT Product Manager is responsible for managing and driving the product requirements process,  This position works closely with the Development, QA, and Marketing and clinical teams to ensure that the product specifications are delivered to the development team which are on time and within scope, and result in new products and enhancements that meet the needs of our customers. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define structure for the product management process, manage day to day operations and assure that product enhancement specifications meet the needs of development, are complete and are delivered on time.   
  • Gather, analyze, and manage product requirements through a variety of methods including, but not limited to, customer site visits, user’s groups, sales calls, trade shows, advisory groups, surveys and industry publications.
  • Develop user level functional product requirements for use by the Development and QA teams throughout the Agile Development Process and QA testing cycle.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of the product roadmap; participate in feature prioritization.
  • Track release features and feature requests.
  • Assist the Development and QA teams by researching and resolving defect questions.
  • Assist technical support and project managers by researching and providing information about the product as needed to address customer issues and questions.
  • Provide the Customer Support, Sales, Marketing, and Field Operations teams with the following product launch materials in a timely manner for each release:
  • Release Notes
  • User’s Guide(s)
  • Migration and Implementation Information
  • Sales and Marketing Material
  • Educational Material
  • Assist in the development of sales tools and with sales presentations

 

Requirements

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

    EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum of 2 years experience managing a product management process.
    • A minimum of 5 years of product management experience in HIS, medical software or medical equipment company.
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting; Laboratory background strongly desired.
  • Experience writing requirements for a commercial software product; experience writing enterprise-class software requirements and specifications a plus.
  • Familiarity with the agile software development methodology and the ability to describe functional requirements in a phased approach facilitating implementation and deployment of the functionality in an iterative fashion.
  • Experience working with clinical users who have minimal knowledge of software applications and capturing their domain knowledge as well-formed requirements.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Technical background in healthcare information systems.
  • Experience with Health Level 7 (HL7) Interface protocols strongly desired.

Travel:               Some travel required, 25%
